Together We Achieve!

At Anchorsholme Academy our curriculum fosters a sense of belonging and the desire for our school family to be curious, confident, communicative and collaborative learners. Our intent is that children leave our school as resilient, motivated lifelong learners with high aspirations for their future.

Curious – having a thirst for knowledge.

Confident – being resilient and demonstrating a growth mind-set and self-belief.

Communicative – vocabulary and interaction is the key to learning and understanding.

Collaborative – ability to work together respectfully and effectively towards a common goal.

About Us

In September, 2013 Anchorsholme converted to become an academy as part of the Blackpool Multi-Academy Trust along with Devonshire Academy, Park Community Academy and Revoe Learning Academy and benefitted from a unique relationship which was established between the four schools. The MAT was then expanded to include Tor View Academy and Valley College, both in Rossendale and in November 2019 became The Sea View Trust.

The Sea View Trust Website

Everyone in the school is encouraged to develop to his or her full academic and creative potential and to think, question, discuss and evaluate.

The school promotes personal and social development. Everyone is encouraged to join in a wide variety of experiences in addition to those associated with the classroom. The pursuit of ideals and qualities such as enthusiasm is encouraged.

Co-operation and care for others is fostered. Everyone is encouraged to explore his or her responsibilities at home, at school and in the local and global environment.

The school is staffed and resourced with this in mind and the curriculum is planned to offer the widest possible range of opportunities. Constructive parental involvement in the life of the school is encouraged and all parents are welcome to contact and to visit the school as they wish.

The standard admission number is currently 90 and the school’s admission arrangements are as described by Blackpool Education Committee for all community Academies. Arrangements for admission to the school should be made either directly to the school or through the Blackpool Education Office, Bickerstaffe House, Talbot Road, Blackpool their phone number is 01253 476637.
