OUR SCHOOL

Who We Are

In September, 2013 Anchorsholme converted to become an academy as part of the Blackpool Multi-Academy Trust along with Devonshire Academy, Park Community Academy and Revoe Learning Academy and benefitted from a unique relationship which was established between the four schools.

The MAT was then expanded to include Tor View Academy and Valley College, both in Rossendale and in November 2019 became The Sea View Trust.

We Know How to Make Learning Fun For Kids

The teaching areas have been so arranged that the infant and junior departments are integrated yet are still able to maintain their own special identity within a modern primary school.

Pupils describe our school as being like a “big family”. The children have many opportunities to mix together, both in the play areas and assemblies. We are rightly proud of the range of activities we offer the children at Anchorsholme both during the school day and after school in the form of extra-curricular clubs.

In Foundation Stage the children follow a very “hands-on”, play-related curriculum which gives them the skills they need to access the curriculum higher up the school.

A Word

From Our Senior Leaders

Mrs Foster and I would like to welcome you to our school. I hope that the information contained in this website will help you to learn a little more about the life and work of Anchorsholme Academy. As educators we believe that all children, regardless of their ability, gender, race or creed should be given every opportunity to learn, grow and develop in a safe, caring and happy environment. Our school motto, `Happy to Learn’, together with our mission statement and aims, acts as a focus for all our work in school. Our commitment is for all children to recognise their talents and abilities and strive to achieve their full potential in all that they do. We aim to provide a wide range of high quality learning opportunities for all our pupils and to help them grow into independent and responsible young people. There will be many opportunities for you to share in your child’s formal education; the school staff, teaching and non-teaching, are always keen to discuss any aspect of your child’s development with you. You are entrusting your children into our care but we appreciate that as parents you have a great deal to contribute and we value you tremendously. We firmly believe that we can only achieve the best for your child by working closely in partnership with you the parents.
