Our SENDCo is Mrs Tina Foster and she can be contacted at school on 01253 855215. SEND Support is provided by Mrs Carter.
The Schools' SENDCo works closely with our parents to discuss their child's needs and progress. Some individuals may have a Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP) in place (these were previously known as statements).
At Anchorsholme Academy, we aim to ensure that all pupils have access to a broad, balanced, differentiated curriculum and realise their full potential in a happy and caring environment. The whole school approach to teaching pupils with special educational needs and disabilities is child centred and relies on a collective, collaborative and shared responsibility thereby ensuring they feel an integral part of their class and the school. All teachers at Anchorsholme Academy are teachers of pupils with SEN.
The School makes every effort to welcome and accommodate disadvantaged pupils. All pupils are treated equally, regardless of disability, race, gender or religion.
The SEND Reforms placed a statutory requirement on schools from September 2014 to make information available to parents about how the school supports children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. This information formed the main basis for what was referred to as the Local Offer.
Our local Offer is available to download below.
