This Week in Year 3!

Good Evening!

It’s been another busy week this week in Year 3! The children have continued to work hard and approach their learning with positivity.

In maths, we have been continuing to learn about time. To support the children’s learning further, please encourage them to read the digital and analogue clocks whenever possible.

Here are a few challenges you could ask the children:

*How many more minutes until ?
* How many minutes in a quarter of an hour, half an hour, 1 hour, 5 hours ect.
*How many days are there in each month? A Year? 2 years?
*Write the time in figures and in words.
* What time will it be in 1 hour and 10 minutes ect.
* What time is 14:30 in the 12hour clock?
* What time is 6:15pm in the 24hour clock?

During our DT project this half term, the children are designing, testing, making and evaluating a Rainforest structure which includes a pneumatic mechanism. This week, they have been designing 3 possible structures and exploring which materials they might need. If you have any spare cardboard boxes, kitchen roll tubes, plastic bottles ect, we’d be very grateful for your contributions.

Have a wonderful weekend and see you all on Monday!

The Year 3 Team. 😊
