Remembrance in Class 9

Class 9 enjoyed their visit to St. Andrew’s Church this week to celebrate Remembrance. During our visit, the children learnt about 15 men, who attended the church and who died during WW1. The church has a seat for each man in the church, where a silhouette can be found with their name on.

The children made a poppy wreath, created a Remembrance box (replicated from those in WW1) and decorated a stone which resembles how hard life was for the men in the trenches.

It was a lovely, yet thought-provoking visit. The children were very respectful and thoroughly enjoyed their learning.

Miss Chalk.
