Stone Age Day in Class 9

Class 9 certainly enjoyed their Stone Age Day! They looked amazing in their costumes- very creative!

In the morning, we learnt about Skara Brae- the Stone Age settlement discovered on Orkney Island, Scotland. The children created their very own news report about the discovery.

Our children were archaeologists in the afternoon investigating what the Stone Age people would have eaten. To do this, they explored Stone Age poo: our discoveries taught us that they were likely to eat berries, fish, meat, grains and greens.

Before the day ended, we travelled back in time to create a camp from the Mesolithic era. The children built drying racks, camp fires and many other tools to help they hunt and gather food.
