What a super topic Autumn has been. We’ve collected Autumn leaves, conkers and seeds. We’ve been on an Autumn walk around school, looking for signs of Autumn and talking about them with our new friends. We’ve enjoyed reading lots of stories with an Autumn theme, we particularly enjoyed the Nick Butterworth Percy the park keeper stories, and these have lead into some lovely role play. The Gruffalo cave has been a real hit and prompted some good language and sentence construction. We have really enjoyed using the play dough and counting and ordering the different Autumn objects. We have started our SFA phonics and the children seem to really enjoy it and are starting to learn the alphabet chant and actions. This week we are focusing on the letters m and a, please help your child to form these letters using the chants in your SFA booklet which you should have received on Tuesday. Next week we will be sending home your pack of a-z flashcards so please look out for those. Finally a huge thank you to all those children and parents who joined us for bedtime story night it was lovely to share the evening with you all. Mrs Dickinson
