Spring & Easter

Welcome back everybody! What a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend we have all had! We hope you all had a lovely and restful Easter break. We’ve come back with a bang and are working super hard as always.
The week before we finished for Easter and this week, we have been thinking about Spring and Easter.

We have been making the most of the lovely weather by spending a lot of time outside planting seeds, role playing in the potting shed and digging in the mud! We have also been having bouncy hopper races which has been a lot of fun and good practise for Sports Day. In the art room we have made ladybird mobiles, Easter chicks in baskets, Spring collage pics, Lifecycle of a caterpillar pictures and tissue paper bees which have all come together to make a fabulous Spring display. In the Literacy room we have been writing instructions about how to plant seeds, sequencing the stages in lifecycles and labelling parts of a plant and in the Numeracy room we have been adding and taking away using all the different methods we have learnt so far (head, fingers, objects, number lines etc) as well as enjoying using money in the role play florist shop. In the Creative room we have loved playing in the Garden Centre, dressing up in uniform and selling plants and flowers and we have also been on a visit to the local park to look at the materials used for different parts of the equipment. Now the better weather is here, please could we remind parents to send in named caps/hats on sunny days and to apply all-day suncream before school to ensure that the children are fully protected. Thank you. Let’s hope the good weather lasts!
