Spellbinding World Book Day in Year 3!

Year 3 had so much fun celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 7th March! The children made a fantastic effort with their J.K Rowling-themed costumes and they all looked brilliant. The children took part in a range of fun activities throughout the day which started with a session where they met some owls! The children heard lots of interesting facts about the different owls and even got to handle them and have photographs taken with them. Other activities included using compass points to find locations in Hogwarts, writing descriptions of Hogwarts settings and creating their own potions, complete with magical incantations! The children also shared a book with their Book Buddy from Year 5. The children really enjoyed reading to their buddy and discussing the books. The day ended with an assembly where the whole school came together to hear members of staff reading their favourite books. Mrs Powell read from the Worst Witch and Miss Lloyd read an extract from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. What a fantastic day we had! Here are some photos we’d like to share with you:
