Week 9 in Class 18

It was really great to be back in school and working as a class again! The children were well rested and eager to get going with the (shortened) week’s work.

In Maths we were working hard with Fractions, making outstanding progress towards the following objectives:
– Identify common factors, common multiples and prime numbers.
– Identify lowest common denominator and manipulate pairs of fractions accordingly.
– Compare and order fractions.
– Convert mixed numbers to improper fractions and improper fractions back to mixed numbers.
– Add and subtract fractions with different denominators and mixed numbers.
In English we focused on our reading skills and did some in-depth work on: subject, verb, object and active/passive sentences.

Homework has been set this week (as usual). Maths homework will be focusing on the work that we have been doing in class over the last week, help – should it be required – can be found at:

There are also a couple of ‘Active and Passive’ summary ‘tests’ for the children to complete on SPAG.com

Only a short post to end a short week this time around!
