The PTFA (Parent, Teacher and Friends Association) is made up of parents, teachers, friends, grandparents and other relatives who try to provide additional facilities for all our children. The PTFA has monthly meetings, which currently take place in the evening and last for 1 - 1 1/4 hrs. These may occur more frequently just prior to a major event. The dates of future meetings are listed below (it should be noted that these may be subject to change) and are advertised on the banner outside school a few days prior to the meeting. The meetings are always very friendly and any new members are given a warm welcome.
Primarily we organise and run events to raise additional funds to be used by the school. These funds are a resource, which otherwise would not be available to the school.
We have been busy raising funds for the new computer suite, but have also purchased the outdoor banner for advertising school events, as well as new theatrical lights for school productions. In the year 2000/2001 the PTFA raised ú5,052.06.
Our aim is to organise friendly, fun events, which may also have an educational element to them. The two main annual events are the Summer Fair and BBQ and the Christmas Fair, however, we have also held Beetle Drives, Quiz Nights, a Musical Evening and organise Family Photograph sessions for pupils and their families. In addition, we also organise and run events for the children such as the Junior Discos.
Please check here for new events organised by the PTFA
These will be held in school, at 7pm on the following dates:
Wednesday 8th November 2006
Wednesday 22nd Novemeber 2006
